World's first 3D outdoor ad campaign


Twentieth Century Fox's recent release 'Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief' was brought to life on the streets of London through the world's first outdoor 'Real 3D' ad campaign, created in conjunction with Create, 3D Exposure and Posterscope's Hyperspace.

The 'Real 3D' total surrounding effect is achieved without the use of glasses through a specialist filter affixed to the high quality HD display.  The LCD image is then subdivided into complex repeating segments that result in the human binocular vision interpreting the vision as a 'Real 3D' scene.


Michelin Man vs. Evil Fuel Pump


Michelin's Fuel Saving outdoor campaign, which depicts the battle between the Michelin Man and the Evil Fuel Pump, was brought to life with 2D cut-outs across multiple backlit 96 Sheets at our flagship Cromwell Road location. The build was planned by Mediaege:cia and Kinetic, with the special build produced by TBWA and Hi Resolution, working alongside Create.


Australia comes to life in spectacular display


As part of a national advertising campaign to encourage potential holidaymakers to take a trip Down Under, Tourism Australia and Emirates worked with Clear Channel Create, Starcom, Carat, Posterscope and DDB to bring Australia to life on a series of 96 Sheets on the Cromwell Road. The country's wildlife and 'give it a go' spirit were showcased perfectly in a series of two and three dimensional images, designed for maximum impact.

Avatar dominates London's Cromwell Road


The spectacular world of James Cameron's AVATAR was brought to life on London's Cromwell Road for a four-week poster campaign. Stretching 60 metres across and featuring blue halo lighting, sculptured front-lit lettering 2.5m tall and variety of 2D cut-out characters exploding from the posters, the interlinked billboards are the longest advertising face in the UK.

RNID uses interactive digital 6 Sheets which react to ambient sound


To extend the exposure of Paul Scanlon from M&C Play's highly regarded concept for the RNID, Clear Channel Create worked with both Play and Hyperspace to translate the software to our 52" digital roadside 6 Sheets, donating £20,000 of media space and hardware. The digital posters reacted to the ambient sounds of passing traffic, footsteps and conversation with specially designed and calibrated microphones which helped bring home the powerful messages of the '1 in 7' campaign, which included '1 in 7 would be happy to hear a dentist's drill'.

Beck's creates 'Music Inspired Art'


ABInbev's campaign for Beck's was a media first and allowed passers-by to visualise music being played on their MP3 player. Running on 12 hand-selected 6 Sheets across London, the sites contained a 52" screen with an iPod dock and jack plug for consumers to plug in their MP3 player. The art was then displayed back to the consumer within a Beck's bottle label on the panel, and also displayed on Flickr.

Leicester de Montfort's Bluetooth Campaign


Leicester de Montfort University's exciting Bluetooth campaign which ran in September gave one lucky student the chance to win a year's tuition fees. The campaign, planned and booked by SMRS and Kinetic, ran on a total of 50 Bluetooth 6 Sheet units in Leicester, Nottingham, Northamton, Sheffield, Stoke on Trent, Lincoln, Derby and Coventry. The campaign also ran on standard 6 Sheets and large format panels across the central area. Passers by were able to download a short video onto their phones which gave prospective students details of how to find out and book onto DMU Open Days in October, as well as the opportunity to win a year's tuition fees.

First ever personalised digital campaign from Castrol


Castrol's ground-breaking digital campaign saw personalised messages appearing on five roadside LED screens in the capital. Supporting Castrol's 'Right Oil Right Car' campaign, the advertising promoted Castrol's oil selection service, giving passengers bespoke recommendations for their car. Specially positioned cameras picked up passing cars' registrations, which were then matched to the correct make and model of car via the DVLA database, whereupon the correct oil recommendation appeared on the digital billboard further down the road. The concept was created by Ogilvy Advertising who worked alongside the Create department to implement the campaign, while media buying was carried out by MindShare.

Ice Age 3: Pan European Vacuum-Moulded 6 Sheet Campaign


Following the success of the special build campaign for Night at the Museum 2 (see below), Fox commissioned vacuum-moulded 6 Sheets for display across Clear Channel's street furniture portfolio in the UK, Denmark, France and Spain. Developed by Create from conceptual artwork to model making and 3D visualisations, the final posters illustrated the film's loveable character 'Scrat' buried in the snow after being stomped on by a dinosaur, with a foot of tangible 3D depth. The campaign was also complemented with a 2D cut-out of the film's main characters on a Pinnacle backlight 96 Sheet on the Cromwell Road, planned by Posterscope's Hyperspace.

Night at the Museum: Pan-European 2D Cut-Out Campaign


Working with 20th Century Fox and the local account teams, Clear Channel Create and Clear Channel International delivered a campaign of large format 2D cut-outs, from proactive pitch through to production and installation, for simultaneous display in the Belgian, Finnish, Dutch and British markets. The cut-outs brought the excitement and scale of the film to life by bursting out of the various European formats.

Unilever Head Office Shelter Special


In a unique project, Create customised a parallel shelter outside Leatherhead Rail Station for the company shuttle that transports Unilever employees to its UK head office situated nearby. Directed by Nick Parker of Kinetic Worldwide, the shelter was painted in Unilever blue and features a contravision poster of the logo alongside two 6 Sheet posters which are rotated on a monthly basis to create complete brand domination.

A one-off special for Shred-it


A one-off poster special for 'Shred-it' which will be featured in their TV ad, was produced and installed for communications agency Draft FCB by Clear Channel Create. The build, not quite as simple as it looks, was pre-fabricated by hand onto an invisible 'cassette' which could then be installed on site. A brilliant idea from Draft FCB which works perfectly on our roadside format.

Dreamworks' latest film bursts to life with Clear Channel Create


Dreamworks' new 3D animated blockbuster, 'Monsters Vs. Aliens', burst to life on streets across the UK, with vacuum moulded 6 Sheet specials. An idea conceived, developed, produced and installed by Clear Channel Create, working with MEC and Kinetic.

Clear Channel Create builds bus shelter radio station to promote 'The Boat that Rocked'


To promote the release of this Richard Curtis ensemble comedy, MediaCom and Create delivered a series of London shelters with contravision wraps and sound units, playing a bespoke sound clip and a selection of sixties hits - bringing Radio Rock to the streets.

CK provoke a reaction on Clear Channel digital screens


Working with Milan based agency Cesana Media, Clear Channel Create installed 52" digital screens at some of the most exclusive London roadside locations. The screens showed a collage of the provocative new TV ad for Calvin Klein Jeans, which was complemented with contravision wrap graphics. View a video of this campaign.

Create helps the digital switchover in the West Country


To support the UK's switchover to digital television, Create, alongside Kinetic and MediaCom, produced a series of LED countdown sheets in the West Country to let the public know how long they had left to prepare and where they could find advice.

Aero runs largest ever out-of-home lenticular campaign


March saw Nestle Aero launch one of the UK's largest ever lenticular campaigns, with 1000 6 Sheets installed across the country. The panels were designed to work alongside Aero's 'skate park' campaign, immersing the consumer in a world of chocolate bubbles. The campaign was planned and bought by Source OOH and executed by Posterscope's Hyperspace. The creative agency was JWT who worked alongside Hive Associates to create the images.

Foxy Bingo use electroluminescent panels to launch £1 million prize


Foxy Bingo used a highly targeted electroluminescent poster campaign to launch a £1 million prize giveaway. The campaign comprised 50 electroluminescent panels in high visibility areas across 16 towns and cities, showing the 'Foxy' character dancing on an animated 1970s style disco dance floor. The campaign, implemented by the Create team, was planned and bought through Walker Media and executed by Posterscope's Hyperspace

Create helps Magners to sparkle at Christmas


Magners Cider commissioned a series of special build LED 6 Sheets to add a 'Christmas Sparkle' to the streets for their latest campaign which ran in premium shopping locations across London and the West End. Working with Hyperspace, Hive and Young Euro RSCG, Create added sparkle to a huge pint of Magners by including special LED lights in the 6 Sheet poster. A newly designed system ensured that both the backlight of the 6 Sheet and the LED lighting were able to run on a single panel, with an outstanding festive result that atoppped many shoppers in their tracks during the busy Christmas shopping season.

Clear Channel Create builds a giant flume for Barclaycard's latest campaign


Clear Channel Outdoor provided the perfect format for Barclaycard's latest campaign, which depicted a customer sliding down a gigantic flume into his front room. The billboard, which ran in conjunction with the TV ad, was an enormous and innovative special build using moulded glass reinforced plastic for the flume, and a mannequin with real hair for the customer. Special lighting was also installed to highlight the flume. Situated at Vauxhall Cross, the Barclaycard billboard was unmissable, with massive scale and impact particularly for the City and Commuter markets.

Orange Animals are let loose inside Clear Channel's Adshel formats


Orange and Clear Channel Create worked together to bring the playful "balloon animal" ad to the streets.
The fun-filled ads were created using custom versions of the Orange animals which were floated inside stripped adshel boxes. Vinyl posters surrounded the balloons to drive the message home to passers-by.

Nivea bubbles light up Clear Channel 6 Sheets


Nivea have teamed up with Clear Chanel Outdoor's Create department to create special glowing bubbles on the inside of a 6 Sheet panel.
This enchanting creative was produced using a special perspex poster filled with 3D bubbles containing Nivea products. At night, LED side-lighting made the bubbles light-up, intriguing the audience and creating an extra-special brand experience.

Clear Channel Create help Grand Theft Auto steal the attention of the London audience


The new Grand Theft Auto game was brilliantly showcased across targeted London 6 Sheets in May.

Specially crafted digital artwork, suitable for all ages, was played on large 52 inch HD LED screens for the fourth in the series of the Grand Theft Auto video games. Surrounded by steel security doors to ensure the safety of the roadside technology, the campaign aimed to hardwire Rockstar's audience awareness and demonstrate the company's commitment to innovation and creative solutions.

Channel Five teamed up with Create to promote 70s cult TV show "Superstars"


Channel Five's first outdoor special builds hit the streets of London to promote the revival of the hugely popular 1970's TV show Superstars.

A series of 6 Sheet special builds featuring the famous Superstars vests were installed across central London, to reignite fans' enthusiasm through emotional engagement and maximum stand-out for the creative.

Ratatouille brought to life on London's Cromwell road


The leading characters of Disney PIXAR's new film, Ratatouille, took over two backlight 96 sheets on London's Cromwell Road.

The creative depicted two of the films' main characters, Remy and Emile, playing a game of "catch" with an olive. Dominated by the 5 meter tall 3D rats, the two billboards really brought the playful characters to life, creating fantastic stand-out on this busy road.

Create launches the UK's first QR code billboard


Create worked with 20th Century Fox to produce the UKs first QR code billboard for the DVD release of 28 Weeks Later, on Shoreditch High Street, London. Hailed as a revolutionary marketing tool, QR codes allow consumers with compatible mobile phones to download secret information and URLs simply by taking a photograph of the unique coded image.

Working with Web Producer and QR expert, Gia Milanovich, Clear Channel Create and 20th Century Fox have demonstrated a commitment to revolutionising the outdoor medium, encouraging engaging and interactive advertising.

Create and UPS bring widget to Life


13 special builds are bringing the lovable UPS Widget character to life across the UK. The design, featuring the line "Widget sees everything", is a 2D cut-out of the character peering over the top of the billboard, and runs as part of a larger outdoor and press campaign.

UPS hope to capture the public's imagination with the lovable Widget character, and the Create billboards were considered the ideal platform for such a large-scale launch.

Create helps to rise the Silver Surfer
